Astro was founded in Metro Detroit, Michigan in 2017 and was primarily located in the area until 2023.
In 2020, Astro partnered with the City of Detroit's Archives Department to create a short documentary for their public grand re-opening. The story was researched in part in the archives department, and was narrated by a Detroit Historian. The project was (and sometimes still is) displayed all around the department library and archives.
